The National Eligibility Test (NET) is a test to determine eligibility for lectureship and for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) India. It is conducted by the CSIR twice a year. The UGC NET is conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA).
Eligibility: Indian nationals with at least 55% marks in Master’s degree or equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognized by UGC in Social Sciences (including languages) Humanities (including languages) and Computer Science & Applications are eligible to appear for NET. Candidates who have cleared the UGC/CSIR JRF examination earlier or are already enrolled in the Ph.D. program are exempted from appearing in NET.
