The Pradhan Mantri Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM-SVANidhi) Scheme is an initiative by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) Government of India to support street vendors in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. Under the scheme, eligible street vendors will be provided a working capital loan of up to Rs. 10,000 which they can use for restarting their livelihoods. The scheme will also provide health insurance cover of up to Rs. 2 lakh per family and an accidental insurance cover of Rs. 10 lakh per family.
The Pradhan Mantri Street Vendor's AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) scheme is a special micro-credit facility for street vendors with a working capital of up to Rs. 10,000. The scheme was announced by the Finance Minister on June 1 2020 as part of the economic package to mitigate the hardships faced by the street vendors due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The scheme also provides a 7% subsidy on the interest rate for loans taken under the scheme. This subsidy is available for loans up to Rs 10000. The aim of the scheme is to provide affordable and eco-friendly transportation options to poor men in rural and urban areas.

PM Svanidhi Yojana Loan Process
Prime Minister Street Vendor's Atma Nirbhar Nidhi (PM Swanidhi) scheme was announced by the Finance Minister on 13 May 2020 as a part of the Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan package. The objective of the scheme is to provide affordable working capital loans up to Rs. 10,000 to street vendors so that they can resume their livelihood activities and support themselves and their families. About 50 lakh registered street vendors across the country will benefit from this scheme. Under this scheme, loans will be provided through Micro Finance Institutions (MFIs) and Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs). PM Svanidhi Yojana Offline Application Process

The offline process for PM Svanidhi Yojana involves the following steps: 1. Download the PM Svanidhi Yojana application form from the MoHUA website or get it from your nearest urban local body (ULB). 2. Fill in the required details in the application form and submit it along with supporting documents to your nearest ULB. 3. Once your application is approved you will be contacted by a representative of a participating bank/financial institution for disbursal.
