P.G.D. Social Work among Tribals or Post Graduate Diploma in Social Work among Tribals is a postgraduate social work course. Social work refers to colorful services designed to prop and increase the weal of the poor, aged and indigent. The course is the first of its kind by Indian advanced education system. IGNOU is the only provider of this course. It has been designed to give introductory knowledge and information regarding the Lines/ Tribals in India. The duration of the course is one time and the maximum one to complete the course is four times. It comprises of six mandatory courses including internship. This programme is offered only in English. Still, a pupil can appear for examination in Hindi as well. This Course enables one to come a Social worker who can help people belonging to colorful lines and resolve the issues that affect them.

Campaigners need to submit one assignment per course within the quested time for being eligible to appear in the term- end examination. For PGDSWT you should do one each Instructor Pronounced Assignments( TMAs). The TMAs must be submitted to the Fellow of the Study Centre distributed to you.
Since social work is a professional programme of study, social work scholars are encouraged to take pupil class in the National Association of Professional Social Workers in India NAPSWI).
To give individualised support to its learners, the University has numerous Study Centres, spread throughout the country. These Study Centres are coordinated by 60 Regional Centres and Recognised Regional Centres.
At the Study Centres, the learners interact with the Academic Counsellors and other learners, relate to books in the Library, watch/ listen to videotape/ audio programmes and interact with the Fellow on executive and academic matters.
Support services are also handed through Work Centres, Programme Study Centres, Skill Development Centres and Special Study Centres.
