Nursery Training Teachers are responsible for the education and care of young children in a nursery setting. Nursery Training Teachers must have a good understanding of child development and be able to create a safe and stimulating environment in which children can learn and develop. They must also be able to build positive relationships with parents and carers. This can be in a variety of settings including nurseries crèches pre-schools and reception classes in primary schools. Nursery teachers work as part of a team to provide a stimulating and safe environment in which children can learn and develop.

As a nursery teacher you'll need to:

plan and carry out activities suitable for the age group you are working with

observe assess and record each child's progress

liaise with parents or guardians to keep them informed of their child's development

work with other professionals such as speech therapists health visitors and educational psychologists.
