Admission to the MA Middle Eastern Studies, specialisation Persian Studies or the MA Middle Eastern Studies( exploration), with sufficient position of reading chops in Persian( position B2 European Common Framework, i.e. at least 80 EC = 2240 hs of language courses at BA position). Please, communicate the pupil counsel orDr.A.A. Seyed- Gohrab, if you're interested in taking this course, but NOT a pupil admitted to one of the below- mentioned master programmes or if you aren't confident regarding your position of Persian. 

Description 

This course is a daily forum on colorful aspects of textbook and textbook- transmission in Persian artistic areas. colorful modes of transmissions and physical aspects of the handwriting will be analysed. A large part of this course will be devoted to reading calligraphies, tutoring scholars how to decrypt colorful orthographies and handwritten textbooks. The last four sessions will be devoted to the reading and analysis of named passages from the 14th century encyclopaedic work of the Safina of Tabriz. The forum will therefore enable the scholars to write the assignment paper at the end of the semester.

Course objects 

The main ideal of this course is to familiarize the scholars with the variety of the rich handwriting tradition in Persian. Course cargo 

The course comprises 10 EC and the total course cargo is therefore 280 hrs 

26 hrs of the course will be spent on attending the class( 2 hrs x 13 weeks) 

6 hrs of redundant sessions to bandy redundant assignments( for ResMA scholars) 

52 hrs are to be spent on schoolwork, i.e. reading the literature and studying the passages from the handwriting

30 hrs are set away for the 2 donations( fix. & 15 min. talk), 

166 hours need to be spent on the final paper. 

Assessment system 

Paper and donations. scholars are anticipated to give two donations on a specific content from the overview( 40). For the final assignment of this course scholars are needed to transcribe and prepare a critical, textual commentary on one runner from – rather – the Safina of Tabriz( 60). A new interpretation of the final essay may be written if the overall mark for the course is “5.49 ”( = 5) or lower. The deadline for this interpretation will be determined in discussion. In the case of are-write the overall grade won't exceed6.0. In order to pass the course, scholars must gain an an overall mark of5.50( = 6) or advanced The course is an intertwined total. The final examination and the assignments must be completed in the same academic time. No partial marks can be carried over into following times.

 For the ResMA scholars redundant literature will be assigned grounded on the interest of the pupil.
